Turning 65 in 2020?
Updated: Jan 29, 2020
Timing is everything. If you are turning 65, you’ll want to keep these tips in mind.
1) Sign up for Medicare through Social Security. Know your time frame, sign up as soon as possible, 3 months prior to your birthdate is recommended. If you are drawing Social Security, you’ll automatically receive your Medicare Card in the mail, 3 months before you turn 65. Keep an eye on your mail, often this piece of mail is overlooked.

2)Choose your coverage. There are many ways you can get coverage; for example, through an employer plan or purchasing an individual Medicare Advantage or Medicare Supplemental policy. What option is best for you? Arbury Medicare Agents can help you sort through your options. Annually, Arbury agents receive training and licensing associated with Medicare products. A quick phone call to one of our Medicare Specialists, and you will feel better about what’s next and how to proceed.
3)Review your coverage, annually. Often plans change and consumers are caught off guard. Be prepared, make a calendar note every October to research your current coverage and your options for the future year. Reviewing your prescription drug coverage is especially important during this time frame.
